00 — Getting started

Two ways
to use it.

Everything in this guide works in the free web app. Premium adds automatic wearable sync and runs on your Android phone.

Free web appPremium (Android)

Free web app

Open the link, then use your browser's "Add to Home screen" so it opens like an app. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure. Your data stays in your browser, so use Settings → Data to back it up regularly (see Backing up below).

Premium

Premium is set up with you, so there are no technical steps to follow here. Register your interest and you will get a licence key and personal setup help. If you want a feel for it first, open the app and tap "Try a demo", then "See Premium".

01 — Core loop

Your daily
workflow.

Four steps. Once it's habit, each takes under a minute.

01
Morning
Log your weight
On the Today tab, tap UPDATE. Weigh yourself first thing — naked, after the bathroom, before eating. Same conditions every day makes the trend meaningful.
Why it matters: daily weight fluctuates 1–2kg from food, water, and digestion. One number means nothing. Thirty numbers tell the real story.
02
Throughout the day
Log meals as you eat them
Tap the Log tab. There are four ways to log food — use whichever fits the moment:

📝 Type it — describe what you ate in plain English. The AI identifies components and calculates macros automatically.
2 scrambled eggs with butter and smoked salmon chicken thigh 180g with roasted broccoli baked beans on toast
▦ Scan a barcode — tap the barcode button, point at any product. Looks up exact values from Open Food Facts (3M+ products). Enter the amount and log.

🔍 Search the database — tap the search button, type a product or brand name. Select from results, enter grams, done.

🏷 Label photo — tap the camera, switch to Label mode, photograph a nutrition label, type the product name and amount. AI reads the exact per-100g values and scales to your amount.

📷 Meal photo — photograph a plate. AI estimates components and portions. Tap "✏ Correct this" if anything is wrong.

Library: save any food to your Library for instant one-tap future logging. Recipes save multi-ingredient meals — set servings once, log one portion with a tap.
03
Optional
Close out for an instant summary (not required)
The day saves to History and master.csv automatically at midnight regardless — this step is a convenience, not a requirement. If you'd like an immediate summary and server sync rather than waiting, type any of these in the Log tab when you're done eating:
that's me done · done for today · all done · wrapping up
MaxedHealth shows your daily summary right away and pushes the row to master.csv on your server immediately, instead of waiting for the automatic midnight rollover. It also stamps today's weigh-in onto the History entry. Skip it entirely if you'd rather — nothing is lost either way.
04
Throughout the day
Track your water
On the Today tab, scroll to the 💧 Water card. Tap + Glass (250ml), + Can (330ml), + Bottle (500ml), or + Custom. The progress bar fills toward your daily target (default 2000ml). When you hit your target it flashes blue.
Water history appears in the History tab and Trends chart after midnight rollover — the same as wearable data.
Shopping list: the 🛒 Shopping tab (next to Library) holds your list. My usuals is the short list you build once and tap each week; Quick list offers what you eat most (or what you added recently); Recipe adds a meal's ingredients, leaving off what you already have plenty of; My foods adds anything else you have saved; From my plan adds what your meal plan needs; Import reads a receipt, order or list; Saved lists keeps the weekly shop, the usuals or a quick list to reuse in a tap; Other phone sends the list across. Items belong to a shop (use + Shop for the butcher or market) and the shop chips show only what each one sells. In Edit mode every row has a ☆ Regular button: a regular stays on your list, unticked, after every shop. Tick items into the basket and press Shopping complete to finish. See Cupboards & stock below.
Fibre: the 🌾 Fibre card on Today shows today's fibre against your target (30g by default, the UK guideline for adults; change it in Settings) and your 14-day average. Only foods that carry a fibre figure count, and a day with none is left out rather than counted as zero. Check which foods are missing fibre and other figures lists your library's gaps: type the fibre from the label, or tap No fibre for foods that genuinely have none. Nothing is ever filled in for you. Fibre travels with a meal wherever fat does: copy and paste, the Paste meal form, Manual entry, Missed day and the Save to library box each have a Fibre box, and a meal with no fibre figure shows a dash, never a zero. Polyols have a box in the same three places (Manual entry, Missed day and the Save to library box); left blank it is never guessed (Missed day counts it as 0).
05
Optional
Set your day mode
Tell the app what kind of day it is before you start logging:

🟢 Standard — full carb ceiling applies
🟡 Occasion — social event, slightly more flexibility
🔴 Holiday — ceiling not enforced

The ketosis badge and AI feedback adjust automatically.
🔍 Can't find something? The search icon in the header searches everything at once — Library, Recipes, Saved Prompts, and every Settings section. Tapping a result takes you straight there, no need to remember which tab something lives in.
02 — Data files

Two files.
Both matter.

MaxedHealth uses two CSV files for different purposes.

master.csv
Your nutrition history
Your nutrition history — one row per day, written automatically at close-out:
DD/MM/YY|Calories|Protein|Carbs|Notes 09/05/26|2840|173|40|chicken dinner

Auto-saved: close-out writes directly to master.csv — no copying needed.

Missed a day? Go to History tab → + Missed day. Describe what you ate and the AI calculates the totals, or enter them manually.

Backup: automatic daily to your local server (Local mode) — see Backing up ↓ for the full picture, or Settings → Data → Export, import & backup (tick Full app backup, then Save to Downloads) for an immediate one any time.
combined.csv
Your wearable data
Wearable data, one row per day, merged from your devices — steps, sleep, HR, HRV, SpO2, weight.

Source: Premium creates it automatically; in the free web app you can import a file like it.

Import: loads automatically after Sync Now. To load one manually, tick Or sync manually under the Sync Now button on the Data tab to reveal the manual file picker.

What it unlocks: the Trends tab — sleep, activity, HR, weight and body composition (muscle mass, fat, bone, hydration) plotted over time alongside your nutrition. Tap any metric card for a full drill-down chart.
03 — Nutrition tools

Every way to
log food.

Eight methods. Use whichever fits — they all feed the same daily total.

🎤
Voice
Tap the mic and just talk. Voice works two different ways depending on where you are in the app:
Continuous (meal logging, missed-day, library batch-add, recipes, supplements) — the mic keeps listening while you say several things one after another. Say each item, then say "done" — or plain English like "I've finished now", "that's everything", or "stop" — to wrap up. Tapping the mic mid-flow pauses rather than cancels; tap again to pick up exactly where you left off.
Single-shot (weight, water) — one value, said once. No "done" phrase needed, since there's only ever one thing to say.
▦
Barcode scanner
Tap the barcode button in the Log tab's input bar. Point your camera at any product barcode. MaxedHealth looks it up on Open Food Facts — exact product name, calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre, sugar, salt, iron. Enter the amount in grams and log. Works on almost any packaged food in the UK and worldwide.
🔍
Food database search
Tap the search button. Type a product name, brand or ingredient. Results appear automatically — tap one to select it, enter how many grams you had, and log. Same database as the barcode scanner — 3M+ products.
🏷
Label photo
Take a photo of a nutrition label. Switch to Label mode (it auto-selects when a photo is attached). Type the product name and amount in the text box — e.g. "ASDA Cottage Cheese 150g". The AI reads the exact per-100g values from the label and scales to your stated amount.
Label mode reads the left column on UK labels — always per 100g, never per serving.
📷
Meal photo
Take a photo of your plate. The AI identifies the components and estimates portions. If anything's wrong, tap ✏ Correct this beneath the logged entry — describe the correction and it re-logs automatically.
✨ Verify across 3 AIs. Not sure about a food? On the meal preview tap Verify across 3 AIs — worth it for anything uncertain. Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT each answer on their own, side by side, each with its own portion guess scaled to the amount you logged. If their calories disagree by more than 25% you get a warning, and you can use the average of the ones you tick. It is a cross-check, not a measurement.
Photo of a plate? Name your own plate or bowl in the box below the photo and its size from Settings → Tableware & Portion Sizes is used.
📚
Library
Save any food to your Library for instant one-tap future logging. Values are confirmed and locked — no AI guessing on repeat items. Tap EDIT to change values or delete. Tap LOG to log instantly. Or build several new library entries in one go with 🎤 Voice add — say a food and its amount, say the next, say "done" when you're through.
Every item auto-sorts into real food categories (meat, vegetable, fat, grain, sweet, and so on) — Browse by Category lets you see and log from a whole group at once. Add your own category to anything via the item's edit screen if the auto-guess isn't quite right.
Editing library values only affects future logging — not meals already recorded. To correct a past entry, go to the History tab.
🍳
Recipes
Save multi-ingredient meals as recipes in the Library tab. Set the number of servings (e.g. 4 for a batch curry). Next time, tap Log 1 serving — you'll see a review screen with every ingredient listed first, where you can add, remove, or swap anything before it actually hits your log. Add ingredients from your Library, the food database, barcode, or manually.
🎤 Genuinely useful hands-free while actually cooking — prop the phone somewhere you can hear it and just talk through each ingredient as you add it to the pan: "200 grams chicken thigh... one tablespoon olive oil... two cloves garlic...". No touching a greasy or floury screen mid-recipe. Say "done" once you're through, then review and save as normal.
🔄 Any ingredient — in a recipe, Cook Mode, or a suggested meal combo — can be swapped for something else via the substitute button. Opens a real searchable picker across your library, with 🔍 Search online and ✨ Try AI always at the top rather than guessing at a match automatically — the portion size carries over, only the ingredient itself changes.
Recipe makes more than one serving? The first time you log a serving, the app asks How many servings did you cook? (it suggests what the recipe makes). If you have cupboards switched on, everything you cooked comes off stock, so stock matches the pot and not just the plate.
If you've corrected an ingredient's values in the Library since building a recipe with it, tap Refresh from Library on the recipe to pull the update through — it won't happen on its own.
📋
Copy and paste a meal
Ate the same thing as yesterday, or want a past day's meal on Today? Tap the 📋 on any entry in Today's Log or in History to copy that line, then tap the 📋 button beside the Log box to open Paste meal. It reads your clipboard and fills in the description, amount, calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre and polyols exactly as they were — no AI re-estimate, because the numbers are already known. Choose the date (today or a past day) and a time if you want, check the fields and press Add entry.
Several lines at once? In History tap Select instead — see Add several lines to Today under Made a mistake?
A figure that was never recorded (fat or fibre on an older entry) comes across blank, never guessed.
🥗
Meal suggestions from your own library
Tap Next meal idea to get a real suggestion built entirely from what's actually in your library and today's remaining macros — never invented. Tap the categories you want (meat, vegetable, grain, and so on), adjust the number next to any if you want more than one, then Send.
Works by typing too — "protein and pasta" or "meat and 2 veg" straight into the chat box does the same thing without opening the picker.
If your library genuinely can't cover what you've asked for, you'll get a real explanation of what's missing rather than a suggestion quietly padded out with the wrong thing.
⚖️
Balance my macros
The deliberate opposite of Next meal idea: that one starts from what you fancy (pick categories yourself), this one starts from what today still needs — no picker, just tap it. Uses the exact same remaining-budget and library-only engine, so suggestions are always real, loggable items.
If there's genuinely too little left in the day, or it's getting late, it says so plainly first — then offers a few smaller, snack-sized ideas instead of quietly padding out a "meal" that doesn't really fit.
04 — Corrections

Made a
mistake?

Every entry is editable. Nothing is permanent until you decide it is.

✏
Edit today's entries
On the Today tab, tap any entry in Today's Log. For a single-item entry, an inline editor opens — change the description, calories, protein or carbs, and the Meal time. For a multi-ingredient entry, it opens a full per-ingredient editor instead: adjust any single ingredient's amount (its macros auto-scale with it), swap an ingredient with its 🔄 button (the same picker as in recipes; the amount stays and the figures are recalculated, and nothing is stored until you press Save changes), add or remove ingredients, or use Scale entire entry to X% to adjust every ingredient at once — useful if you only ate part of a bigger batch. Tap Save. The daily total updates instantly. Tap × to remove an entry entirely — you have 5 seconds to undo.
📅
Edit previous days
Go to the History tab, expand any day, and tap any entry to edit it — the same per-ingredient editor described above works here too for multi-ingredient entries. The History editors have the same Meal time box and the same 🔄 swap, so a meal logged to a past day can be given its real time. The day totals recalculate automatically. Tap ✏ Edit day totals to override the whole day's figures without editing individual entries.
📋
Add several lines to Today
Had the same lunches as last week? In History, tap Select above the list, open a day and tick the lines you want (or tap Select whole day), then press 📋 Add selected to Today. You are asked first. Each line comes across as a new entry with its calories, macros, fibre, polyols and amount, stamped with the time you add it. The original day is untouched. Tap Cancel to leave select mode.
➕
Log a missed day
Go to the History tab and tap + Missed day. Enter the date, then either describe what you ate (AI calculates the totals) or enter the numbers directly: calories, protein, carbs and fat. A fat figure you leave blank is not guessed (the day counts it as 0). If that day already has meals, what you enter is added as one more entry, Missed meals added later, and the meals are kept. Saves to History and master.csv automatically.
05 — Wearables

Wearable
data.

Sleep, heart rate, HRV, steps and weight make your trends far more useful. There are two ways to get them in.

✍️
Free: enter or import
Type values on the Manual Entry screen, or import a CSV file from the Data tab. Both work in the free web app.
🛡️
Glitches are caught
If a device file has an impossible value (a 5,000 kg weight, a negative night of sleep, a heart rate of 300), that one value is left out before it reaches History, so it cannot skew a chart or a statistic. The rest of that row still comes in.
⌚
Premium: automatic
Premium reads Health Connect and your ring or watch for you every day, picks the most trustworthy device for each measure, and checks its own work. Nothing to type.
06 — Analysis

Reports
& Trends.

Available once you have data. The longer you track, the more useful these become.

📈
Trends
Weight, sleep, HR, HRV, SpO2, steps — over time alongside nutrition. Needs wearable data (Premium sync, or a file you import). Each chart's style row has a colour swatch to recolour its main line (double-tap to go back to the default).
📋
Summary cards
Average macros, adherence %, streak, and best day — for any date range you choose.
🔍
Query builder
"Days under protein target?" · "Days over carb ceiling?" · "Current streak?" Answered instantly. Save any query with a name to re-run later with fresh dates. The Query Builder sits inside the Ask about this period card on Reports, together with Ask AI.
💬
Ask AI & Saved Prompts
Ask any open-ended question about your data in plain English — sleep patterns, HRV correlations, "how am I doing today". If you've genuinely changed condition at some point (Settings → Condition History tracks this automatically), just ask naturally to compare periods — "how does this period compare to before" — no filter needed, the AI works it out from the real dates. Every question can be saved with a name for one-tap reuse later, searchable and editable in one shared library across both the Log-tab chat and this Ask AI panel. Dictate new ones by voice; the list sorts by how often you actually use each one.
🔊 Any AI answer — here, a saved prompt's reply, a Full Summary or Monthly Summary report — has a read-aloud button. It splits longer answers into natural chunks behind the scenes rather than reading the whole thing as one block, so a full multi-paragraph report reads properly start to finish instead of stalling partway through.
🤖
AI Brief
Plain-English narrative of your nutrition period. GBM patients get metabolic adherence analysis.
🧭
Topic chips
Trends, Reports and the Settings screens have a row of chips at the top (for example All · Body · Heart & sleep · Food · Patterns). Tap one to show only that topic. It only changes what you see: nothing is moved, deleted or un-hidden, and All looks as it always did.
📅
One date range everywhere
Reports, Trends, Move, Compare Metrics (and the Treatment and Statistics pickers) all use the same chips: 7 Days · 30 Days · 90 Days · All · Custom, with the same From and To boxes, always filled in (the default is the last 12 months) and applied as soon as you pick a date. The Fasting, Sleep & Ketosis, Weight vs Protocol and Treatment cards on Reports follow the Reports range. Long explanations on report cards sit behind a ? (More detail), and short lines stay in view.
✨
The sparkle means AI
Every button or link that sends something to an AI carries the same ✨ sparkle: Try AI, Ask AI, Generate Full Summary, Verify across 3 AIs, Interpret this with AI and so on. If there is no ✨, nothing is sent anywhere.
⚖️
Weight unit
Settings → Profile → Weight unit: kg, lbs or st + lb. Switching never changes your data, only how it is shown. In st + lb you can type "14 st 2" in one box. Charts follow the unit too.
📅
Add or fix a day's weight
Missed a weigh-in? The Update Weight box has a Date field, and you can also use "+ Add or fix a day's weight" on the Trends weight card or weight drill-down, tap a gap on Your Journey, or use the Weight box in History → Edit day totals.
〰️
Gaps and the faint "last known" line
On Your Journey and the Trends weight chart, a faint dotted line carries your last real weight across days with no weigh-in so a gap reads as "no new data". It is only drawn, never saved, and does not affect averages. On Your Journey a break of more than a week shows as "⋯ 18d".
🗺️
Your Journey overlays
Your Journey now lives on the Move tab, with 7 Days, 30 Days, 90 Days, All and Custom chips (Custom shows From and To dates) to choose how much of your history it shows. Chips above the chart add Calories, Protein, Carbs, Water, Logged exercise, Active calories or Steps as dashed lines, each scaled to its own maximum. Tap a day to see the real figures. Your choice is remembered.
🔬
Body Composition card
Weight alone can hide what changed. This card (on the Move tab, with its own date range chips) compares this week's smart-scale readings with last week's and says in plain words whether you are, for example, losing fat and gaining muscle. It also draws your muscle and fat over the range you choose. Scale estimates can swing by half a kilo or more, so a fat or muscle verdict only appears when the change is at least half a kilo and the week before moved the same way; otherwise it says Holding steady and that it may be scale noise. A change under 0.3 kg shows no arrow. With only two weigh-ins it is a hint, not a trend. Treat it as a guide.
🆚
Compare Two Periods
On Trends (Patterns chip). Pick a recent stretch, such as a holiday where meals were photographed, and a baseline before it. The card compares logged calories, steps and weight trend, and tells you whether your logging looks too high or too low. It always shows a margin of error and says when the difference is just noise. "What was counted" lists exactly which days were used. Short periods give wide margins; extra weigh-ins help.
🏋️
Copy previous set
In the routine editor and the workout Apply screen, tap ⧉ on a set (or "⧉ copy previous set" on an exercise) to repeat its reps, weight and note, so 3 x 10 @ 40 kg is one line plus taps.
🍽️
Tableware & portion sizes
Settings → Tableware & Portion Sizes lists your plate, bowl, mug, glass and spoon sizes, with typical sizes filled in. Add sets for other places (holiday, parents' house). Photo estimates and the 3-AI check use them. The ↺ button returns a value to its default.
🌦️
Local weather
Optional card on Today. Type a town or use your location (only rounded coordinates go to the free Open-Meteo service). It raises the water target on hot days, suggests the day's exercise effort, and shows the best time to exercise outdoors. A location set with "Use my location" follows you: Refresh, and opening the app, re-read your position and move the weather if you have travelled more than a few kilometres. A town you typed stays put. You can always override it.
✈️
Working offline
With no connection the app still opens, and logging, your library, history and charts keep working. A banner shows at the top. AI features say "needs internet". A meal the app can't recognise can be saved for later; when you are back online tap Review and confirm each one, which logs it on the day you saved it.
06b — Move, sleep & statistics

Exercise, sleep
& your own numbers.

Everything you log about movement and sleep feeds the same places as your food: History, the chart, Reports, summaries, the AI and your backup.

🏃
Add exercise from a list
On Today → Move, the Exercise today card is the one list where everything is recorded: walking, cardio and resistance, each row with minutes, distance (km or mi where it applies) and effort. + Add another exercise opens the full list. Pick from 55+ known exercises, grouped by kind (walk and hike, running, cycling, water, racket and court, gym, classes and more) and tagged indoor or outdoor, or add one free-text line of your own. Known exercises carry their own energy values, so you are not guessing a number. Move has three cards for today: Steps (your day total, which already includes any walk you log), Exercise today and What if…. Type your steps as 5000 or 5k; your own typed total counts until your watch, ring or phone reports the same or more, then the device figure takes over.
🧮
How the calories are worked out
Calories = MET × your weight × hours. A walk, run or ride with a distance and a time uses your real speed (values from the 2011 Compendium of Physical Activities, level ground); anything else uses the Easy / Moderate / Hard level, and choosing a level by hand always wins. Exercise is counted net of resting energy (MET minus 1) because your daily target already includes what you burn sitting still. Once your watch has compared enough days for a kind of exercise, its measured ratio replaces the formula for that kind. Settings → Formulas has a Net / Gross switch. These are estimates, not measurements.
🎯
What if… and the In / Out strip
The What if… card on Move is a scratch pad. Pick an exercise (one of yours, Steps, or + More for the full list), type an amount such as 40 min, 3 mi, 1h10 or 3k steps, choose Easy, Moderate or Hard, and it shows the calories and what that does to your room today. Nothing is stored until you press Log it, which adds it to today's row for that exercise (or creates the row). The In / Out strip on Today shows what has come in, what has gone out and what is left.
💪
Resistance
On Move, inside Exercise today, 🏋️ Sessions & routines lets you log sets, reps, weight and a note per set, or apply a saved routine. Volume (sets × reps × kg) shows on the History day, in Reports and in Statistics. Tap ⧉ to copy the previous set.
📚
Exercise everywhere
Each History day shows its exercise (and resistance sets). The metric chart and Compare Metrics can plot exercise minutes, exercise calories and resistance volume. The Move tab has an Exercise over time card with its own 7, 30, 90 days, All and Custom chips: active days, minutes, effort mix, kinds of exercise, weekly minutes, personal bests and the change on the period before. It is also in the AI context, the weekly summary, the clinician view, the carer page and every backup.
🌙
Sleep
Each History day shows a sleep panel: total, a deep / REM / light / awake bar, efficiency, sleeping heart rate and time to fall asleep (whatever your wearable provides). Reports has the sleep detail inside the Sleep & Ketosis card (called Sleep & carb adherence on a standard profile), which has a Sleep part and a Sleep and your food part; each part appears only when it has data. The Sleep part shows: average night, nights of 7 hours or more, consistency, the average night by stage, every night as a column, weekday against weekend and the change on the period before. Sleep also reaches the AI, the weekly summary, the clinician view and the carer page.
🧭
What seems to move what (Early Stage)
A Reports card that compares days with a habit against days without it, then looks at what came next: the following night's sleep, deep sleep, sleeping heart rate, next-day HRV and symptoms, and what a short night does to the same day's eating and movement. Habits covered: each kind of exercise, resistance, hard effort, a late last meal, an over-ceiling carb day, a very active day and a logged treatment session. It also looks at bedtime (nights later than your usual against that night's sleep), next-morning weight change and the day of a treatment session plus the two days after. It only shows differences that are both large and clearly beyond ordinary day-to-day wobble, with at least 10 days on each side, and they are associations in your own data, not proof of cause. A small key explains the markers (▲ looks helpful, ▼ looks unhelpful, ● just notable). Not sure what a finding means for you? Tap ✨ What does this mean for me? for a plain-English read of what matters most and what is thin. It uses the same AI route as your other reports (your starter allowance or your own key). It needs a few weeks of data before anything appears.
📊
Statistics
Insights has a Statistics tab between Trends and Reports. + Create a statistic by choosing what to look at (foods, days, weeks, months, days of the week, exercises, kinds of exercise, resistance lifts), what to measure (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre, iron, potassium, magnesium, vitamin D, omega-3, steps, sleep and its stages, weight, HRV, exercise minutes and more), total / average / highest / lowest, top 5 to all, any period or custom dates, and how to show it (ranked list, bar chart, line chart, donut or table), with a live preview. Give it a colour and a group. Tick Compare with the period before to see percentage changes and new entries. Every statistic has a ✨ Explain button that says in plain English what the numbers show and what is worth doing about it.
🗂️
Keep, find and share statistics
Statistics sit in groups (Food, Over time, Body, Exercise, My own) with search, a group filter, ▲▼ or the ⠿ handle (drag it) to reorder, 🎨 to change the chart type and colour in a tap, 🙈 to hide (find them under 👁 Hidden), ✎ to edit and 🗑 to delete. 📚 Library offers over twenty ready-made ones to add with a tap. Each can be copied as text or downloaded as CSV. 📤 Share saves your statistics as a small file that holds the questions only, never your data; anyone with MaxedHealth can import it and see the same questions answered from their own history. Everything is in your backup.
📌
Statistics on Today, in reports and in the AI
Tap 📌 on a statistic to pin it to a compact My statistics card on Today (up to four; it stays out of the way until you pin one, and has the usual ▲▼ and 👁). Tick Include in summaries, clinician view and AI and the statistic appears in your weekly summary, the clinician view and the AI context, each with its own period stated. Hidden statistics are never shared.
Where did Top Foods go? The Top Foods and Average by Day of the Week cards used to sit on Trends. They now live on the Statistics tab as the first statistics you start with ("Top 10 foods", "Calories by day of the week"), and you can change them, or build your own.
07 — Protocol

GBM
mode.

MaxedHealth was built by a GBM patient in remission. The protocol support is deep and specific.

⚡
Ketosis badge
Green = within ceiling. Yellow = approaching. Red = exceeded. Always visible on the dashboard.
🎯
Carb ceiling
Set per day-type in Settings — Standard, Occasion, and Holiday each have their own independent limit. Enforced throughout the day with clear warnings when approached or exceeded.
📊
Metabolic analysis
Insights → Reports → AI Brief gives GBM-specific adherence analysis. Trend analysis, Query Builder for specific questions, and Ask AI for open-ended ones (headache patterns, water retention, HRV correlations).
📅
GBM Monthly Summary
A structured monthly review of your GBM protocol — ketosis adherence, metabolic consistency, weight trend, and protocol recommendations. Insights → Reports.
🔬
GBM Research Digest
A persistent, dated home for real research findings — metabolic, dietary, repurposed-drug approaches — colour-coded Proven/Early Stage/Speculative. One-tap "Copy Research Request" pastes a ready-made prompt into a real AI chat, since this app's own AI calls have no live web search. Insights → Reports.
📖
Full protocol guide
Diet, supplements, repurposed drugs, evidence categories. Written by a patient for patients. Read it →
On holiday days: going over the ceiling occasionally doesn't break the protocol. Use Holiday mode for planned higher days. What matters is the trend over weeks, not one number.
07b — Make it yours

Show only
what you need.

MaxedHealth does a lot. You don't have to see all of it at once.

Four small controls sit at the top of Today, Trends, Reports and Settings.
Filter
The topic chips (All, Me & targets and so on) are always visible just under the toolbar. Filter opens the Hidden list: tap a hidden card to bring it back.
Fold
Open all / Close all unfold or fold every card in view. A folded card shrinks to one line that still shows its live value; tap it to open.
Reset
↺ Default puts that screen back to its standard layout. Settings → Manage → Reset layout on every screen does the same everywhere. Nothing you have logged is ever touched.
Voice
Say or type "Hide the fasting card", "Show the ketosis card" (on a profile that is not ketogenic the card is called Carbs, in the fold bar and the hidden-cards list too), "Close all cards" or "Reset my layout" in the Log box.
Starter packs: a head start for your situation.
A pack is a small file of ready-made lists (such as symptoms and treatments) and a screen layout, with nothing about your health and no entries. The setup wizard offers a starting point at first run: Brain tumour tracking, Keep it simple or Show me everything. Change your mind later with Settings → Manage → Setup → Change my focus: pick another starting point, read the preview, and the screens re-arrange (nothing you logged changes). More than twenty condition packs (add a second one with Add as another focus; with two or more conditions, chips on Compare Metrics let you look at one at a time) (for example epilepsy, diabetes, migraine, asthma, arthritis, Parkinson's, menopause, thyroid, sleep, weight loss) are under Settings → Manage → Setup → Starter packs. You can share your own too: tick Screen layout and the lists you want, then Share my setup only.
Planning a meal for later. Type "I'm planning on eating 2 eggs and toast at 1pm", or tap Plan for later on a meal preview. The meal goes into a separate plan under the Today bars, with totals shown as eaten plus planned against your targets. When the time arrives, it asks whether you ate it; only then does it move into your log. Planned food never counts as eaten until you say so (or switch on Trust my plan).
Fasting heads-up. If you track fasting, a plan that would end a fast early gets a one-line note: how long after your last meal it is, and when your goal would be reached. It is information only; nothing is changed or blocked.
When you eat. Insights > Reports > When you eat shows how much protein, carbs and fat you eat in each part of the day, how many eating occasions you have, and how your protein is spread over them. It is measured from the times on your logged meals (meals with an approximate time are left out) and appears once you have 7 days of timed meals. It follows the Reports date range, can be hidden, moved or searched for like any other card, and describes your own pattern: on its own it sets no targets and gives no advice. Under it, Timing advice lets you choose who should advise (coach, PT, dietitian or diabetes team, with oncology nutrition added if your condition is GBM or you log treatment sessions) and asks the AI for advice on when to eat what, from your profile and your own pattern, with each tip labelled Proven, Early Stage or Speculative. Write it for my ... makes a short note you can copy and give to that professional; nothing is sent for you.
Choosing what a carer or clinician sees. Settings > Carer & Clinician has a What this link shows list. Tap who it is for (Carer or family, Clinician, Diabetes team, PT or coach, and Oncology team on a GBM profile or once treatment sessions are logged) to start from a sensible set, then switch anything on or off. Daily totals are always in; weight, exercise and sleep are on by default; grams by time of day, meal times with food names (last 10 days), treatment sessions and supplements (name, dose and time of day) are off until you switch them on. The printed Clinical report also carries a one-line summary of your meal timing. Nothing is shared until you make a link and send it yourself, the link lasts 7 days, and it tells you exactly what it shows.
More from your meal times. The times on your logged meals also feed: the Meal times card on Insights > Trends (first and last meal by day, meals a day, carbs after 5pm); five Compare Metrics series in the Nutrition group (eating occasions, first meal, last meal, protein before noon, carbs after 5pm); the same five as Statistics measures (by day, week, month or day of the week); a "your usual" line on the Fasting card on Today; a line in the weekly summary; and six example questions under Browse saved prompts. When you have logged treatment sessions, When you eat also shows your intake the day before, the day of and the day after them. The timing adviser starts from your condition (for example Diabetes team or Oncology nutrition) until you pick your own. Meals logged with an approximate time, and medication-style items, are left out. Recipe steps follow your changes. In the recipe builder and in Cook Mode, swapping an ingredient renames it in the steps (with Undo), changing an amount updates the amount quoted in the steps, and Cook Mode servings scale the amounts in the step text. Removing an ingredient flags the steps that mention it instead of deleting them.
Languages. Settings > Profile > Language (or the first onboarding screen) offers English, Spanish, German, French, Turkish, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Polish and Dutch, each with its flag. A 🌐 button then sits in the corner of every screen with Back to English. Anything not translated stays in English, and medical terms with no safe translation are left alone rather than guessed. Translations are machine-assisted and have not been checked by clinicians, so check anything important in English. For anything still in English, tap the ✨ Translate this screen with AI button next to the flag: it asks first, sends the English text on screen to your AI provider, and remembers the answers on your phone.
Scoring a day you missed. Under the How are you today? card, + Score a past day lets you fill in the last 14 days after the event.
Reports about a tag. A report profile can be about a treatment or about a tag you use (for example "Swim", or "Any Exercise"), and with more than one condition set up you can narrow the list by condition first.
Merge
Add what's missing keeps everything you already have and skips anything with the same name, so nothing is duplicated; it works the same for the starter foods and recipes, for CSV files and for packs someone shares with you, and your own exports never carry repeats. After a merge into the food library the app offers its duplicate finder for near-matches (a typo, different wording). Replace swaps your version of the ticked items for the pack's.
Nudge
If a pack tucked a Today card away, a week later the app offers it back once: Show it, Not now or Don't ask again. It is always optional.
More than one condition? Tags? Before and after.
Several conditions in one app. Someone with cluster headaches who also has a brain tumour, has acupuncture and sees a physio can keep it all in one place. Settings > Manage > Setup > Change my focus has Add as another focus: it keeps what you have, adds the new pack's symptoms and treatments with that condition's label, and combines the screen layouts so a card is only tucked away if both focuses tuck it away. Switch still replaces. Things you added yourself carry no label and always show.
Condition chips. Once you have two or more conditions, chips appear at the top of Compare Metrics, the Treatment Sessions picker and the report wizard. Tick one or several to see only that condition's symptoms and treatments; none ticked means everything.
Tags are data too. The tags you put on a day (for example Treatment: Massage, Exercise: Swim, Occasion tags) can be used like treatments: pick one (or Any Exercise) as the anchor in the before / during / after view, so you can see how sleep, heart rate variability, weight, food or a symptom looked in the days around it. A tag needs at least three days before it shows up. Tags used on three or more days also become 0/1 pills on the Compare Metrics graph, next to your symptom scores. Your own treatments appear as tag chips too, so you do not type them twice.
Manage tags (a link under the occasion picker on Today) lists every tag with how many days it was used. Rename one (or rename it onto another to merge, ignoring capitals) or remove it from every day, so "massage", "Massage" and "Massage session" do not split your numbers.
How are you today? The 1 to 5 scores are kept even on a day you log no food, and show up everywhere your other data does: Compare Metrics, before / after, reports and the Reports analyst. A clinician asking whether exercise, HRV and nutrition affected your headache days is answered from these.
Copy anything you can read. Under every result the app produces (an AI answer, a report, an import result, a log, a command) there are two small buttons: Select all and 📋 Copy. Copy puts exactly that text on your clipboard, ready to paste into an email or a message to your doctor.
07c — Cupboards & stock

Know what
you have.

Optional. Tell MaxedHealth what is in your cupboards, fridge and freezer and it counts it down as you log meals, adds things to the shopping list when they run low, and only suggests meals you can actually make. Nothing here is on until you start counting something.

Getting started without counting everything

Open the 🛒 Shopping tab and find the My cupboards card. The quickest start is 📥 Import a receipt or order, choosing Starting my cupboards: paste a recent supermarket order (or choose a CSV or text file) and the pack sizes are read from the names, so 2 x Cheddar 400g becomes 800 g and 4 x 410g beans becomes 1640 g. Anything it cannot work out is marked with a bar and left blank for you; it never guesses an amount. Nothing is saved until you press the button. Then use 📋 Check the cupboards, one long list with a box on every row, to correct anything you have already used and to set a Reorder at level. Each row saves as you type.

How the Shopping page is laid out

The Shopping tab is one flow of three sections: My list, Add to the list and My cupboards. Each has the same title, ? help and ▲ ▼ 👁 ▾ controls as every other card, so you can fold it, hide it or move it, and the page remembers. My cupboards shows only the foods you hold, never your whole library. Use the tabs (All, Fridge, Freezer, Cupboard, Non-nutritional, Low, Use soon; a tab with nothing in it hides itself) and the aisle headings, which fold. Tap a food to open it: set the amount, reorder level, shop, where it is kept and its use-by, add it to your shopping list, or remove it from your cupboards. The search box finds a food you do not hold yet and offers to add it.

One Import button. In Add to the list and in My cupboards there is a single 📥 Import. It asks What is this?: I have just bought this (adds to your cupboards), Starting my cupboards (sets the counts) or A list to shop for (puts the lines on your shopping list and leaves your cupboards alone). The same reader and check screen serve all three, and a hint on the screen lists what works (till receipts, order pages, e-mailed receipts, plain lists, CSV or table files, a photo of a paper receipt) and what does not (PDFs, handwriting). A table can have a Shop column and a Food or not column. If you paste a receipt you have already added, you are warned and nothing is counted twice unless you tick Add it again anyway.

Do I already have this? Before you add something new, the app looks in My cupboards (on the shelf or in Filtered), on your shopping list (including ticked items) and in your library. A food must contain every word you typed, so stock cubes finds Beef Stock Cubes but unrelated foods are not offered. Each match says where it is, such as in Filtered, and tapping it opens the one you already have. Typing a food into the shopping-list box and pressing Add asks first when it is the same words in another order or spelling, with Add anyway or Cancel; asking for a food waiting in Filtered by its exact name puts it back on the shelf. Importing a receipt or CSV row that is close to something you hold says so under its New food badge. The Possible duplicates button in My cupboards shows pairs side by side: keep either one and the other is removed with Undo, and Not duplicates is remembered.

What each line says. Every line shows one state under its name: a green ✓ Matched (it is a food you already have, or one you picked with Match…), an amber ⚠ Check this (the closest food I could find, so look before you trust it) or + New food (nothing in your library yet; use Create new). On a line that is not matched yet, ✨ Ask AI asks the AI which of your own foods it is. It can only pick from names you already have (or say none), it sees the receipt wording and your food names but not your numbers, and nothing links until you press Use this. A long matched name is shown in full underneath. It saves as you go. Ticks, amounts, names and matches are kept on your phone the moment you change them, so you can leave the screen, take a call or close the app and press Import again to carry on. Start again throws the saved list away, and adding it to your cupboards clears it. If you would rather bank foods one at a time, press ✓ Add this one now on a row: it goes into your cupboards at once and the row locks as added, so the bottom button only adds what is left and nothing is counted twice. To change a count afterwards, use Check the cupboards.

Recipes and your cupboards. When you add a recipe to the shopping list, foods you already have plenty of are left off, so the list is only what you need to buy.

Counted in g, ml or each. A food is counted in grams, millilitres or whole items, and it never switches by itself. Toilet roll, bin bags and cleaning products work the same way as food: count them as each (rolls, bags, bottles), set a reorder level such as 5 rolls, and they join your list as non-nutritional items when they run low. Each food also has How many packs to buy each time it runs low (3 for milk, 2 for bread): when it goes low the list says 3 × Milk on its own, and finishing the shop offers 3 as the amount bought. It saves as you type, with Undo.

Receipts and the weekly shop

Came back from the shop with extras? 📥 Import (choose I have just bought this) reads a till receipt, an e-mailed receipt, an order page, a plain list or a spreadsheet-style table, and adds the counts on top of what you already have. It understands item codes, tax letters, 2 @ 3.50, weighed items, 24CT packs and pounds and ounces, and ignores totals, card and loyalty lines. For a paper receipt, or one shown on a screen, 📷 Photo of a receipt copies the text out with the AI you have already set up (leave out card details), then it goes through the same checks. An electronic receipt needs no photo at all: paste its text, or choose the file.

If the columns of a table are unclear, you are shown the first few rows and choose what each column is: name, quantity, pack size, price, item code or skip. Choose the shop under Bought at, and new names get the shop on the end, like Baked Beans (Asda), the same way shop variants are already named; foods already in your library keep their own name. A line that did not match anything has 🔎 Match… (pick one of your foods) and + Create new, which works like Log: 🔍 Search online, ✨ Try AI, 📷 Scan barcode or 📸 Read a label (a photo of the pack; only the per 100 g figures that are printed are used, nothing is guessed), with ⌨️ Type it as the last resort. Whichever you use saves to your library only (nothing is logged) and brings you straight back to the list. ✨ Ask AI (my foods) on the line only looks through foods you already have. Everything you bought is taken off your shopping list if you leave that box ticked.

What happens as you eat

Logging a meal takes its ingredients off the count. When something reaches its reorder level it goes on your shopping list by itself, and when a meal is planned its ingredients are held back so the list and the suggestions do not count them twice. If you ate out, the 🍽 button on a logged entry (or words like restaurant or takeaway in what you typed) stops that meal touching stock. Herbs, spices and salt are the never runs out foods: they are never counted and never go low, and you can change that list under ⚙ Stock rules.

Foods that keep longer. The fridge default (3 days) is only a starting point. In Stock rules, Fridge life by type of food, type words from a food's name and how many days it keeps, such as cheese, cheddar and 28. Every fridge food with one of those words then uses your number. A food's own length (set on its ✎) still wins, and nothing is filled in for you.

Next meal idea and Balance my macros only suggest foods and recipes you could make from what you have, or could swap for something you have (swaps are a strict like-for-like list plus ones you have made before, never guesses). Choose Hide what I am out of, Only what I have counted or Off in the My cupboards card. A recipe card says how many batches the stock covers.

Fridge, freezer, use-by and leftovers

Each food can be kept in the cupboard, fridge or freezer, and the app cannot know which for you (sliced onions may be fresh or frozen), so you choose, and you can change your mind. A fridge or freezer food gets a use-by date worked out from the day you bought it and how long that food keeps in that place. The default lengths (3 days fridge, 90 days freezer) are only a start: edit Lasts (days) on a food and your own number is remembered for it from then on, so milk that lasts five days in your fridge stays five days. A date you type yourself always wins.

Foods that are close are shown in a Use soon strip, and a meal idea is told to use them first. Past its date a food stops being suggested and offers bin it. Cooked batches become leftovers with an eat-by date (2 days by default, 90 frozen; change both in ⚙ Stock rules), and each batch can be frozen, thawed or binned. Used or binned takes an amount off stock and remembers it for 30 days so you can see what you throw away.

It starts switched off. New users get the app exactly as it has always worked, and the My cupboards card says it is there. Switch it on when you want it (the card explains what changes); until then nothing is counted and meal ideas can use anything in your library. To go back later, press ⏻ Turn off on the My cupboards card and the app returns to the old way: nothing is counted, meal ideas are not filtered, your log and list are left alone, and the stock buttons disappear. Your counts are kept, so switching it back on picks up where you left off.
These dates are your own cautious suggestions, not food-safety advice. Always follow the pack and your own judgement.
08 — Protect your data

Back up.
Seriously.

MaxedHealth stores everything in Chrome's localStorage — fast and private. But if Chrome clears its storage, it's gone.

If you're on Local mode, most of this is automatic now.
Chrome can clear localStorage when your device runs low on storage, when you clear browsing data, or during a reset. Don't assume it's safe because it was there yesterday — Premium backs up for you automatically; in the free web app, export a backup regularly.
Auto
Full daily backup (Local mode). The first time you open the app each day, everything — history, library, recipes, settings, today's log — backs up automatically to your local server. 7-day rotation. Nothing to remember, nothing to tap. If you ever need it back — Chrome got cleared, you're setting the app up fresh — Settings → Data → Restore from backup → Check the phone's daily backups lets you pick a date and load it straight in.
Anytime
Immediate backup. Settings → Data → Export, import & backup → tick Full app backup → Save to Downloads. It makes a file in your Downloads folder, keeps a copy on the phone's server, and the card tells you the file name and where to find it, rather than waiting for tomorrow's automatic backup. Also the only backup layer that exists at all for cloud/GitHub Pages users, since there's no server to back up to automatically.
Auto
Premium backups. Premium keeps rotating backups of your data on your own phone automatically.
New phone
Phone to phone (QR). Settings → Data → Phone to phone (QR) is the first thing in the card. Scan the codes on the new phone and it shows a preview first, then only adds; nothing is replaced. It carries stock, shopping list, recipes, food library, history, routines, supplements, symptoms, treatments and lab results, plus settings, profile and layout if you tick them. Wearable history and the full backup are too big for codes (and the backup holds keys that must never pass through a camera), so those go by file.
Monthly
Keep a copy off your phone. Every backup above lives on the phone itself, so a lost, broken or reset phone takes them with it. About once a month, go to Settings → Data, tick what you want and tap Send to another app… (it makes one zip and opens your phone's share menu; Save to Downloads just saves it on the phone) and send it somewhere that is not the phone: email it to yourself, put it in a cloud drive, or copy it to your computer. If you ever need it, Settings → Data → Restore from backup loads it straight back in. Before a big change (a new phone, a factory reset, clearing Chrome), do it that day.
09 — Questions

Things people
ask.

I logged a meal but the macros look wrong. How do I fix it?
Tap the meal in today's log and edit the values. Save the corrected version to your Library with locked values — the AI uses your numbers next time, not its estimate.
What's the difference between typing/voice and the Library?
Typing, voice, photo and barcode all use AI to identify macros from scratch — good for anything new. The Library stores foods you eat regularly with locked values — one tap to log, no AI needed, no drift.
Will I lose my data if I clear Chrome?
On Local mode, no — not anymore. A daily backup of everything (today's log, full history, library, recipes, routines) sits on your server as a JSON file, and Settings → Data → Restore from backup lets you pick a date and load it straight back into the app. A few seconds, not manual file surgery.

Worth knowing: it's a full replacement, not a merge — anything logged since that backup was made (and not also in the backup) won't survive a restore. So it's genuinely there to recover from Chrome being cleared, not a casual daily undo.

On Cloud, there's no server at all, so this doesn't apply — clearing Chrome there is genuinely final unless you've exported. Either way, for extra peace of mind: Settings → Data → Export, import & backup → Full app backup → Save to Downloads any time, which gets you an actual file you can see and keep yourself.
Do I have to count everything in my cupboards?
No. Start from a recent shopping order with Import (choose Starting my cupboards) and correct what you have used in Check the cupboards. Foods you have not counted are assumed to be in the cupboard, so they still appear in meal ideas. Herbs, spices and salt never need counting.
I bought something unexpected. How do I add it?
Use Import on the My cupboards card and choose I have just bought this: paste the receipt text, choose a file, or photograph a paper one. It adds on top of what you have. If a line is not matched to one of your foods, use Match… to pick one or Create new (search, AI, barcode or a label photo; typing is the last choice) to add it to your library and come straight back.
Why is a meal I like not being suggested?
Usually because one ingredient is counted as out, or is past its use-by. Open the recipe card to see what is short and the swap it can use. If you would rather see everything, set the meal-idea setting in the My cupboards card to Off.
Why does the Trends tab show no data?
Trends needs wearable data. Meal logging alone won't populate it. Premium syncs it automatically; in the free web app, type values on Manual Entry or import a file from the Data tab.
Can I use MaxedHealth on multiple devices?
Not automatically — data lives locally on each device. The quickest way to move your own data to another phone is Settings → Data → Phone to phone (QR): the new phone shows a preview and only adds, it never replaces. It carries stock, shopping list, recipes, food library, history, routines, supplements, symptoms, treatments and lab results (and settings, profile and layout only if you tick them). Wearable history and the full backup are too big for codes. For those, tick them under Export, import & backup, Save to Downloads (or Send to another app), then on the new phone use Restore from backup → Restore from a backup file (.json or .zip).
Is my data sent anywhere?
Only meal descriptions go to Claude AI for macro identification. Nothing else leaves your device — no accounts, no cloud storage of your personal data, no tracking, ever, on either mode.

"Cloud mode" is a slightly confusing name worth clarifying: it means the *app itself* is loaded from GitHub Pages rather than your own phone's server — not that your data gets uploaded anywhere. On Cloud, your log and history live only in that browser's local storage on whichever device you're using. On Local, they also save to your own phone's server, which is what enables the daily automatic backup and wearable sync. Neither sends your personal health data to Pete Spence, to Anthropic, or to any third party beyond that one meal-description call to Claude.
Will I run out of AI requests on the shared account?
Very unlikely for normal use. The shared account (used automatically unless you add your own API key) is capped at 60 calls per day, purely to keep it fair since everyone shares it. Logging every meal and snack — text, voice, or photo — is roughly one call each, so a typical day of eating comes to somewhere around 5-10. Even a heavier day with several extra AI reports or questions on top rarely gets close to 60. It exists to stop the shared account being drained by one person, not to constrain how you actually use the app day to day. If you ever do hit it, adding your own API key (Settings → Manage → AI Provider) removes the cap entirely, at your own cost instead.
What does "that's me done" actually do?
It gives you an immediate summary and pushes today's totals to the server right away, rather than waiting for the automatic midnight rollover to do it. It also stamps today's weigh-in onto the day's History entry. It isn't required — the day gets saved to History automatically at midnight either way — but it's a quick way to get confirmation and make sure your server backup is current without waiting.
How do I change my carb ceiling?
Settings → Manage → Carb Ceilings. Set different ceilings for standard days, occasions, and holidays independently — GBM/epilepsy's therapeutic reference is ≤20g, but the number itself is fully yours to set.
How does the Resistance activity fill in its own minutes?
It accounts for any strength training logged that day, not resistance bands specifically — Bench Press, Bicep Curl, Rowing, bodyweight Press Ups, whatever's under Strength Training. The moment a set is logged, it syncs automatically so those calories count toward today's total without a separate manual entry.

If no session duration was logged, one gets estimated at ~2.5 minutes per set — a rough real-world average, not measured from you specifically — with effort defaulting to Moderate for the same reason. Both the minutes and effort dropdown are fully editable on the Today tab; correcting either only overrides that day's estimate, never how future sessions get estimated. The same explanation is one tap away in the app itself — look for the ⓘ next to the sync hint.
Why are there two separate "Browse saved prompts" lists?
The Log tab and the Reports/Insights tab each have their own version because they genuinely see different data — the Log tab only ever has today's numbers, Reports has your full history (now including today too). A saved prompt is tagged Today, History, or Both, and only shows in the matching tab's list, so you never accidentally run a question that needs history through the tab that can't see it.

Set the tag yourself via the toggle when saving a prompt (it suggests one automatically based on the words in your question — "today"/"remaining" suggests Today, "recent"/"trend"/"compare" suggests History — but you can always override it). Prompts saved before this existed show up in both lists until you classify them; a one-tap Auto-classify button appears in the manager whenever any are still unclassified.
Can I edit a saved routine directly?
Yes — tap ✏️ Edit next to any routine (alongside Apply/Copy/Delete) to open the same add/remove-exercise form pre-filled with its current list. Save changes updates it in place. Copy still works as before if you want to start a new routine from an existing one instead — it never touches the original.
Can I track how many tablets I'm actually taking, not just the dose?
Yes — each supplement has an optional Tablets field, separate from the dose (e.g. dose "2400mg", tablets "2 capsules"). Set it when adding or editing a supplement in Settings → Manage Supplements, and it shows alongside the dose everywhere that supplement appears.
Can I reorder my supplement lists?
Yes — Settings → Manage Supplements is grouped by time of day (Morning/Midday/Evening/Bedtime) with ▲▼ buttons to reorder within each group, and Today's checklist follows whatever order you set. A supplement taken in more than one period (like Omega-3 or Curcumin) can sit in a different position in each list — reordering one doesn't force the same order everywhere.
I'm reporting a bug to Claude — what's the easiest way to send the relevant debug info?
Settings → Manage → 📋 Copy Diagnostics for Claude. It lists every diagnostic source with a live count of how many entries each one has, ticks the ones with something to report automatically (untick or tick any manually), and one tap copies everything selected — app version, timestamp, and each source's full detail — ready to paste straight into a chat.
10 — Reference

Glossary.

master.csv
Nutrition history file. One row per day, pipe-delimited. Built from end-of-day close-out rows. Keep this backed up.
combined.csv
One row per day of merged wearable data. Import it to populate Trends.
Carb ceiling
Daily carbohydrate limit, set per day-type (Standard/Occasion/Holiday) in Settings → Manage → Carb Ceilings. Therapeutic GBM/epilepsy reference is ≤20g, but it's fully user-configurable.
Weight Phase History
Settings → Manage → Profile. Logs intentional weight phases (loss/maintain/gain) with dates, updated automatically when you change goal. Lets AI reports correctly interpret trends — deliberate loss is never flagged as a concern.
Condition History
Same idea as Weight Phase History, for condition instead of goal. Logs automatically whenever you genuinely change condition, so a later switch can't retroactively distort how old data gets judged. Once you've used more than one condition, Ask AI and Full Summary can compare periods naturally — just ask, no filter needed.
Activity Level
Settings → Manage → Profile. Personalises what counts as an Easy/Moderate/Hard walking pace for you specifically — there's no single correct "brisk" speed for everyone, even the AHA and CDC officially disagree on the number. Also auto-switches on its own from your real, sustained step-count trends — a genuine improvement gets a celebration, a decline gets a plain notice. Logged to Activity Level History the same way Condition History works.
Resistance (activity)
Today → Move → Exercise today. Accounts for any strength training logged that day, not bands specifically. Auto-syncs the moment a set is logged; if no duration was given, estimates ~2.5 min/set at Moderate effort — both editable, correcting either only affects that day.
Balance my macros
Log tab chip. The opposite of Next meal idea — starts from what today's macros still need rather than a category you pick, using the same library-only suggestion engine. Says so plainly and offers smaller ideas instead if there's genuinely too little of the day left for a proper meal.
Ketosis badge
Dashboard indicator. Green = within ceiling. Yellow = approaching. Red = exceeded.
Library
Personal food library with locked macro values. One tap to log. Values never drift.
Day mode
Standard / Occasion / Holiday. Sets which ceiling applies and adjusts AI feedback.
AI Brief
Plain-English summary of your nutrition period. GBM patients get metabolic adherence analysis.
Barcode scanner
Tap ▦ in the Log tab's input bar to scan any product barcode. Looks up exact nutritional values from Open Food Facts.
Label mode
Photo mode for reading nutrition labels. Attach a photo, switch to 🏷 Label, type the product name and amount. AI reads the per-100g column and scales to your stated amount.
Recipe
A saved multi-ingredient meal with a set number of servings. Log one portion with a single tap from the Library tab.
Missed day
History tab → + Missed day. Log a day you forgot to track — describe meals for AI calculation, or enter calories, protein, carbs and fat manually.
Fibre
Tracked automatically from barcode scans and food database searches. Set your daily target in Settings. NHS recommendation is 30g/day.
Water tracking
Log water intake from the Today tab's water card. Tap + Glass, + Can, + Bottle or + Custom. Set your daily target in Settings (default 2000ml).
Close-out
Say "that's me done" for an immediate summary and server push, plus stamping today's weigh-in onto the History entry. Optional — the day saves to History automatically at midnight either way.
